I think the NRSC is thinking about pulling out of the WV senate race.

In this general election season, I get a phone survey call once or twice a week, mostly about Joe Manchin's senate seat, but occasionally about Richard Ojeda running for CD-3.

But tonight, in a span of 20 minutes, I've gotten two survey calls, from different companies. Both were blatantly Republican ("Would it make a difference to your vote if you knew that the NRA gave Joe Manchin a grade of D?). Compared to previous surveys in the last couple of months, the examples of Manchin's "bad" governance were off the wall -- blaming Manchin for not enacting laws to stop the opioid crisis while he was governor from 2005-2010, and tying Manchin to Schumer ( "Schumer is mean to Donald Trump).

I suppose that the large increase in surveys could be a targeted marketing technique for the Patrick Morrissey. But my suspicion is that the NRSC realizes that they need to prop up existing senators like Ted Cruz, and they are considering dropping Morrissey.

(P.S. If you feel the need to respond by telling me what a bad Democrat Manchin is, and that the people of West Virginia are stupid and inbred and don't deserve to live, go away. I don't want to hear about it!)

If three Senate seats flip, Trump's slash-and-burn agenda ends that second. Right now it's more important for them to hold on to what they have than it is to increase their slender majority.

based on this numbers Manchin has a pretty decent lead.... which is why i'm wondering WTF people are thinking when they say he has to vote for kavanaugh to hold his seat. if anything he is going to lose his seat if he betrays the Dems in his state.
