These non voters on All In are on my last nerve

Newsflash you aren't the center of the universe. The world doesn't revolve around you. I am so sick of hearing about how you weren't inspired. Every gay person in wide swaths of this country will be a third class citizen for at least the next 30 years because you weren't inspired. Every woman of child bearing age in wide swaths of this country will have no right to or ability to get an abortion for the next 30 years because you weren't inspired. For the next 30 years every single, solitary progressive change made by Congress will be overruled by SCOTUS because you weren't inspired. We have children in cages because you weren't inspired. People in Puerto Rico died because you weren't inspired. If after all of this you still think it isn't worth voting then frankly I really don't care what you think. I guarantee that if we give these self centered fools everything they ask for today, there will be a new list tomorrow and the next day and the day after that. And once they get told no, it will be well I won't vote.

5. I still remember, very fondly, a vote I cast because I hated the man who was running

I lived in MS when there was a race for LT Gov. The LT. Gov. was an asshole and bigot of epic proportions. His opponent was Ronnie Musgrove. No he didn't inspire me. I didn't care. I voted for him anyway. But I knew the world didn't revolve around me.

7. Exactly!

I just posted in another thread, and shared on FB and Twitter...

These non-voters on Chris Hayes tonight are really pissing me off!!! People like you share responsibility for those who will die due to Repug policies, like dismantling ACA, making abortion illegal, failing our Puerto Rican citizens, etc. Don't act all high and mighty like you made some noble fucking choice. You bear as much blame as those who supported Trump directly.

"The difference is whether people get poisoned or not (re:Flint)! Who cares if they're inspiring?!" ~ Chris Hayes

He says something along the lines of EVERYTHING IN LIFE IS A COMPROMISE!! If you can't accept that fact, you'll never have a life partner, a job, friends, interests...basically, anything that means anything to anyone.

(I think), where he emphasized that almost all of life, especially adulthood, is a choice between two less-then-perfect/desirable things. The picture was of a man, pondering "Hmm, should I have an unpleasant trip to the dentist, OR just bear this excruciating toothache"?

I have never gone to the polls expecting the candidate I vote for to "be like me," as one of the people said. If they were like me, they wouldn't be running for political office, because I don't run for political office!

What matters is which candidate will do the most good about the issues I care the most about.

I can't stand it when people say they don't vote. Especially if they don't register because they don't want to be called for jury duty. Grrrrr.

47. Right

They complain about how much life sucks but don't realize that a.)Life doesn't HAVE TO suck and b.)Part of the reason that life sucks is because they don't get out to vote and elect the people who will make life suck less and c.)Not voting allows the people who DO make life suck to win over and over again.

TL/DR: If life sucks, vote for somebody to make it better.

Iíd dread the next four years, but I would always remember it could be even worse.
The only two people in the world that would keep me from the polls might be a Cruz vs. Trumpóespecially before I had a chance to experience the Trump presidency. Dominionism or Trumpismónot a choice Iím capable of making.

Iím tired of this lesser of two evils bullshit. There is no comparison between any democrat and republican. None.
Democrats care about people, Republicans care about corporations period end of story. Politics is an ugly business. Candidates are not perfect. But most if you listen to them tell us what they stand for. I can listen to Obama all day long, Hillary was not as pleasant to listen to, but her message was clear she cared about us. Trump had a message of fear and hate. Itís as simple as that...
If you want a canidate with the voice of an angel who will tell you exactly what you want to hear get ready for more years of republican rule. These people need to get off their asses and vote it really is not that hard!

When Election Day 2016 came, everyone who didnít vote by mail left work to vote. When they guys came back, one of them confessed that heíd voted but did not vote for president because...wait for it...he didnít like either candidate. That was the beginning of one of the worst days I can remember. I couldnít even speak. I was so pissed. What the fuck is up with these people? Jesus isnít running for Congress. VOTE dammit. GOTV.

39. I blame the influence of the Bobos (bohemian bourgeois) on our culture.

The same sorts of middle to upper-middle class of people in the 80s were Yuppies for whom money was the only important thing. The Bobos who emerged in the nineties added the bohemian to the bourgeois, creativity and appearing anti-establishment became just as important. The Yuppies wanted to be stockbrokers, now they want to work in tech companies where they can wear T-shirts and sneakers and the break rooms are filled with toys and balloons, or sell artisanal bacon-kale flavored mayonnaise in little bottles that sell for $20.

Who's always asked where they get their inspiration from? Artists and fashion designers, writers. Creatives. Everyone wants to be creative now. Having to be inspired to VOTE? Do you have to be inspired before you renew your drivers license? Do you have to be inspired before you do your taxes? Do you have to be inspired before you take a shit in the morning? These people. Grow up.

Politicians have many obligations to qualify for office and to earn your vote, but guess what?

Entertaining you isn't among them.

This isn't a rock concert, it's a solemn obligation to use your ability, as a citizen, to evaluate someone asking for your vote and then vote for the one who best reflects your needs and the needs of the country. Not the most entertaining person. Not the perfect person. Not the person who promises to give you everything you've ever wanted.

67. Voting against someone is as valid as voting for someone.

At least youíre voting!

Voting gives you the right to have an opinion. It gives you a voice in what goes on.

69. Third thread and most rec'ced on this topic

and I still don't see any value in attacking people who do not vote for their reasons for doing so.

There is no key to victory, no secret to improving voter turnout, no insights revealed as to what might be improved on the part of candidates, campaigns, strategy, communications, etc. in these remarks that I can discern.

Just insults and scolds.

Maybe nobody should read this article, either, if it's just going to raise your blood pressure.
