5. Everybody has their own priorities

I was just on financial forums and they rave about Trump while mocking anyone who rips him. Market is up a half percent today. I've seen this editorial linked all over the place on the financial forums:

I don't agree with that editorial but it should be used as reason to partially understand why Trump's approval remains near 40% and not where it belongs. Old scared church-going wall-building types are thrilled with Trump and so are people who make the stock market their top priority. Basically any group frequented by uneducated white males also loves Trump, and that describes the sports forums that I visit every day, especially the college football boards.

I find it more interesting to be in enemy territory. The track and field forum Letsrun.com has a great message board including a bizarre marathon Donald Trump thread that began on inauguration day and keeps going and going. Hundreds of pages. Previously dominated by frothing right wingers but more recently many liberals have started to post there -- including myself -- and now the locals can't stand it. Previously they would post stuff like, "Democrats are Gays and Trannies" to widespread applause. That is an actual example.

Right wing media put their efforts into overdrive. And now we have tens of millions who are dangerously out of touch with reality. Actually, it's worse than that. They actively deny reality in favor of an alternate "reality."
