Megyn Kelly makes case against Kavanaugh's accuser:

‘Maybe he blew her off and she had an axe to grind’

“Maybe her blew her off,” the NBC host continued. “This is what defenders would say, right? She been harboring — she had an axe to grind about him and she lays the foundation as a Democrat [sic] donor, saying I don’t want — I’m just going with the most dramatic theory.”

Kelly offered what she said was a “legitimate” defense of Kavanaugh.

“It’s been 34 years,” Kelly said. “He was allegedly 17 when it happened. How is he supposed to defend himself? There’s a reason we have statutes of limitation in this country and that’s because — this isn’t a criminal case — but that’s because memory fades, details fade and it’s impossible for him to prove a negative.”

that's the defense? that all he ever did to her was "blow her off", and because of that, she fabricates an alleged rape 34 years later?

wow, that's really holding a grudge and amping it up. oh and, it suggests she wanted it and he didn't. it would be a nice defense if it had any logic or plausibility to it.

of course, one wonders why, if she was the sort of person to turn a forgettable slight into a criminal act, why didn't she go for fabricating a completed rape? why only an attempted rape?

and why on earth would she ever put one of *his* friends in the room of this supposedly fabricated attempted rape, when there's no way he could possible corroborate her story if indeed it was fabricated?

that's all just nuts.

vastly more likely is that he did something very serious to her -- you know, something like, maybe, what she said he did....

They've been using it for decades, "a little bit nutty, a little bit slutty." Maybe this is the time that despicable strategy finally doesn't work. Maybe this is the time it backfires. I hope so. Kelly's hiring at NBC was supposed to be a coup for Andrew Lack. He put his own prestige and position on the line to snare her from Fox and give her a prominent position at NBC News. When that didn't pan out, they put her in a special correspondent position. When that still proved to be above Kelly's ability, they put her on in the third or fourth hour of the Toady Show. It appears that even that do-nothing job is beyond Kelly's capabilities, and her despicable comments, rank speculation, show that once again Lack made a colossal mistake in hiring her.

Kelly's bullshit should end two careers at NBC.

Well, those "boys" grow up to be men, most of whom go on to father more boys that later become men. That kind of attitude emboldens boys and men to act out their sexual aggression against women, young and old alike, and then brush it off with a shrug of their shoulders. After all, a "guy's just gotta do what God made him want to do."

It's the type of attitude that allows men to sexually assault their dates or their actual girlfriends, and later to slap, punch and force their wives to "perform" their "duties". It's the type of attitude that leads to men putting their hands on women or leering at a woman without provocation, permission or with no desire on a woman's or girl's part whatsoever. Why another woman (who surely must have encountered this kind of physical abuse herself at some point in her professional career!) would lay into another woman and accuse her of any wrongdoing is repulsive and base. It's the height of moral hypocrisy.

She stated that the woman had described this as an attempted rape to her therapist. I got the gist that this woman had been talking about this to her therapist about her trauma for some time now. So Megyn can go kick rocks. It sickens me when people defend abusers, but I am especially sickened by women that defend abusers.

I'm a psych nurse, one of the questions I ask all my patients when they are admitted - any past history of sexual abuse - The majority of them answer yes - the majority say they never told anyone. Quite often, through tears or anger - I am the first person they are telling. So these 65 women professing how "nice" he is don't know squat about abusers,

And let me just add - One of the " nicest people " I've known for many years - Someone I included as one of my very best friends - recently was found out to be a horrible disgusting person who was indeed a predator that sexually harassed many women. Those of that know him personally, are still reeling from having to come to the realization that he is not the person we thought he was. He had 2 faces. The face he showed us. Then the other that he showed his victims. Thank goodness for technology, he was caught on tape. Had it not been for that, sadly, the victim may not have been believed since we all thought he was such a nice guy.

He never showed any anger or untoward interest in women while we knew him. Turns out in college and as a young man, he was having sex with underage girls and was a bit of sexual predator-of course none of the girls went on record. Everyone was shocked as he seemed like the nicest guy-think Mr. Rogers only younger. My parents adored him and were upset with my sis for dumping him-a good thing.

Even today it's hard for me to picture him with underage girls. It reminds me of Ted Bunny, you had all these political people saying how wonderful and smart he was. Yet he showed an entirely different side to his victims. I guess if you are white, smart and middle class people tend to believe you. It's only if you are a poor minority where you are automatically accused.

I have had a situation similar to this from my brother when I was a similar age. No one was home at the time and he wanted to stick a finger up my buttwhole. That ought to really piss him off he said. I went into my room and put a chair against the door to keep him from breaking in. It didn't stop him from trying and I held him off until my parents thankfully got home. At a previous time he did do it and did other physical abuse as well.

I share this because I didn't tell my parents about it because I was scared. My brother is dead from the opiod crisis so retribution is impossible. But the scars in my subconscious remains and will stay there forever.

Do you want people to just believe you meghan kelly? Are people not trustworthy if they don't tell right away? I told my therapist and family after a few months. Does that make me less trustworthy? What is your goddamn point other than painting with a ridiculously broad brush about victims? I really hope your fired. Does NBC have any line at this point with her?

That line of thought is just too stupid. So, supposedly this woman is still angry that 30 years ago this guy blew her off and now is claiming that the man attempted to rape her in high school. If the woman was so angry about him blowing her off why did she not lie about him trying to rape her when they were still in high school.

This line of a woman is claiming rape because a man did not hug her enough is used too much. A few year ago a football player, I think it was Jameis Winston, was accused of raping a woman. A former football player was interview by a local morning news show and the former football player said there is a chance that Jameis might not have hugged the woman enough after sex and that may have made the woman mad. So, next time Jameis should be nicer to the woman he has sex with before kicking her out.
