The ball is in their court, so to speak. They have the majority and they can handle this Kavanaugh "question" however they choose. However, they should understand that the manner in how they handle it can have consequences at the polls. The people are watching.
It's really sad that this lady has stepped forward to disrupt their plans of shoving right-wing judges down the throats of all Americans. The gall for someone to challenge them....

(82,849 posts)Which "wild stories" are out there that the media are promulgating? Certainly the president has an extensive record of pushing wild stories about (just one example) white farmers in South Africa. He's also fond of bleating "fake news" whenever events go in a direction he doesn't like, mostly to create doubt and uncertainty, rather than to get at the truth. The end result of those ploys is pretty clear: To cast doubt on any media reports that contradict his soothing lies. Do you have examples?

(46,166 posts)Even if DEMS can't take the Senate enough to impeach Kav, they can drag him through hearings.
I predict that if he's seated he'll step down of his own accord during hearings. Maybe it'll be too late because the SCOTUS will rule favorable for Trump's immunity from investigation. But Kav will pay a huge price and enjoy a dubious SCOTUS distinction.
