The Haw River flows from North of Burlington North Carolina all the way South towards areas that were badly affected and it was at least 30 feet higher than normal close to the bridge like these pictures near Burlington, all of that water is headed towards already flooded areas it ends up going into the Cape Fear River

It passes through Fayetteville on the way to Wilmington, those people need to realize that all of this is still an ongoing issue even after the rains stop

I feel for the folks in the Carolinas.

Worse news is coming. Many thousands of people live in areas where flood insurance is not required. Nobody buys that unless they absolutely have to. This storm is far exceeding the normal flood zone maps. The Carolinas are going the way of Puerto Rico.
