Where were the parents???

I know, I sound like an old fart but it sounds like Kavanaugh and Judge were falling down drunks. How did they get in the house at night? Did they drive home from these benders? How do you not notice and worry about behavior like this? I was a single parent, working and going to school and my kid seldom got by me. I could tell by the sound of his footsteps what shape he was in and I always, always ,always called him on it.

I had a couple of beers with some friends out in the country and I missed a step coming in, didn't fall, but she was johnny on the spot to bust me. Cleaning barns by yourself will sober you up quickly.

Anytime a parent went away the kids would play. I hope things have changed but i doubt it.

And did your parents see you and your friends while you were blotto?

I don't think she has indicated if it was during the day or night.

It sounds like the school was near the party so they potentially could have walked home.

I don't know if Congress can open up his disciplinary record with the school since he was a minor but it might corroborate the story if he was caught drunk the next day or on other occasions.

16. Georgetown Prep is a boarding school

"The only Jesuit boarding school in the United States, it is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington on 93 acres (380,000 m2)."

Kavanaugh grew up in Bethesda, Maryland though so he might have been a day pupil.

and they turned out wonderfully.

Solid citizens, liberals, and I still really enjoy them.

If they are merely putting up with me, I can't detect it. They seem to enjoy their old mom, too.

Oh, and it was around the same time when Kavanaugh was at Georgetown Prep.

10. Kids still do this.

Mine are both in college but they had a few cautionary tales from upper classmen in high school. One kid got a DUI while driving home from a party at a kid’s house and the parents of the DUI kid sued the parents of the kid that had the party.

Plenty of houses around here are big enough that if the parents didn’t want to see the partying then the parents wouldn’t see it. Lots of pool houses or houses with multiple floors or segments. (My house is perfectly normal sized, no shenanigans by kids possible.)

Some parents don’t care or worse yet, they facilitate the partying.

he'd take my driver's licence away until I graduated. I did not drink any alcohol. I knew that he'd do exactly that. Simple.

And while they checked, they didn't check very well. I had a fake ID from a friend, she had turned 18 and I had her expired Driver's License. They didn't check those things very well then.

I don't know how they justify it, but it does happen.
