Trump's Junk: Is It OK to Dick-Shame the President?

On Tuesday, The Guardian published excerpts from an obtained copy of Stormy Daniels’ not-yet-published, tell-all memoir Full Disclosure, in which she describes a number of troubling events: her 2006 sexual encounter with Donald Trump; her mounting disbelief as she watched him gain traction during the 2016 primaries; her fear that she might be in danger as he got closer and closer to the presidency; and her agreement to sign a $130,000 hush agreement. (Trump has denied the alleged affair, though he has admitted to authorizing his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to pay Daniels for her silence, and Cohen later pleaded guilty to criminal charges related to the payoff.)

Yet one detail of the book the Guardian revealed has had the Internet in a frenzy: Daniels’ description of Trump’s genitals as “like the mushroom character in Mario Kart.” Images of the character, Toad, were instantly memed and “Mario Kart” trended on Twitter. Reactions were a mixture of horror at having to imagine Trump’s junk, and glee to have such a sensitive detail about him to mock. But it brought up a larger question: Is it ok to dick-shame the president?

In January, the results of Trump’s physical exam — which showed him to be just shy of obesity, according to the Body Mass Index — launched a debate over whether or not it was OK to fat-shame him. On the one hand, there was the argument that Trump body-shames everyone, from Miss Universe contestants to Rosie O’Donnell, and that the best way to get under the skin of a petty, vain man is to attack his physical appearance. On the other hand was the more compelling argument that mocking Trump’s weight on Twitter — or in an op-ed he’ll never read — won’t hurt him, but it will hurt fat people who actually see it; that tying your disdain for Trump to his weight only reinforces harmful ideas of fatness as connected to moral failure and fat people as unlovable. To protect and support all of the overweight people out there who aren’t trying to block immigration into this country or undercut the public’s trust in journalism, it’s better to focus anti-Trump sentiments on his personality and his policies, not his body.

But does the same rule apply to making fun of his penis? Surely it’s tempting to mock anything we can about the president, especially something so closely tied with ideas of masculinity and power, when his desperation for those things is so transparent. And this is not the kind of information that was ever going to sail through the Internet quietly.

Personally I could care less about Trump's junk but I think not using a condom when cheating on your wife or lasting only two minutes are not things to be proud of.

He has a habit of shaming other people for anything and everything. He completely deserves it. Besides, humiliating him in that department is one of the best ways to drive him insane. He prides himself on being a ladies man, but he obviously doesn't cut it and I think that should be publicly known. Maybe that will be a signal to all rapists and womanizers that they are susceptible to being shamed as well.

Anything that humiliates him and causes him shame is fine with me.

Tue Sep 18, 2018, 10:15 PM
Sep 2018
https://newrepublic.com/article/131117/presidential-penis-short-history

Every American president has had a penis. The possession of a generative member is, in fact, the one trait they all share. Some have been Whigs, some Democrats, and some Republicans. There have been slave-owning presidents and abolitionists, bearded presidents and clean-shaven ones, Easterners and Southerners. Almost all have been white, but at least one has been black. Yet all have been men.

Americans might be cringing at Marco Rubio’s nudge-nudge-wink-wink comment about Trump having “small hands” and Trump’s reassurances that both his hands and penis are in good shape. Yet this locker-room banter belongs to an old tradition running from Adams to Bill Clinton. The only way to stop American presidents from alluding to their penises is to elect a woman, which is likely to happen in November.

Thanks to various sex scandals, we have detailed descriptions of Bill Clinton’s penis. According to Robert Bennet, Clinton’s lawyer in the Paula Jones case, “In terms of size, shape, direction, whatever the devious mind wants to concoct, the president is a normal man. There are no blemishes, there are no moles, there are no growths.” The Independent offered a more prosaic account: “His erect penis is about five inches long, has the circumference of a quarter ... and heads off at an angle, presumably rather like a finger bent at the joint.”

Seems to have been going on for quite a length of time.

If he finds this to be appropriate behavior, then he should not be bothered when it is turned around on him.

If he is bothered by it, I'm not particularly fussed -- he should treat people better if he wants to be treated better.

Having said that, let's put this dick-shaming into context: this isn't dick-shaming a random person, or non-public figure, or a public figure who has avoided speaking about their sex-life and/or penis in public. TRUMP TALKED ABOUT HIS DICK DURING A GOP PRIMARY DEBATE.

The only people who could cry "unfair!" to dick-shaming with less credibility would be nude models and porn performers.

I've seen more than a couple of penises in my life, but I've never seen one that I would describe as resembling a mushroom, so to me it's unique, if not odd. I'm curious about how -45 is explaining to Melania the reason that Stormy knows what his penis looks like.

I'm not going to admonish anyone for ridiculing -45 for ANYTHING, simply because he deserves everything that's thrown at him. We've got enough ammo against this decrepit creature to ridicule without going after his physical self, but my loathing for him is so off the charts that I'm tempted to attack anything and everything about him. I hate that I allow someone like him to bring out something in me that would cause me to be tempted to ridicule something unique about another person.
