(40,208 posts)she has only harmed Dr. Ford's credibility by making a statement without backing it up.
This could also have been a fake tweet not coming from the actual friend. There has already been hacking and impersonation online of Dr. Ford as stated by her attorney.

(9,766 posts)you contradicted some key things Ford has said, deleted your tweet and now have no interest in pursuing it??
Thanks for muddying the waters ever further.

(108,976 posts)doesn't mean that somebody at the party didn't observe something and that it wasn't discussed afterwards.
My impression was that there were 4 boys at the party. The fact that they didn't enumerate any girls doesn't mean there weren't any. Just that there weren't any among possible rapists.

(9,766 posts)this woman is saying that kids at her school talked about it for days afterwards.
Ford said the assault occurred during the summer when school isn't even in session.

(34,062 posts)You don't think boys brag about sexual escapades? She tried to scream - you don't think someone might have heard her, seen the boys leave, perhaps tried to use the bathroom she locked herself in, seen her later somewhat disheveled from the attack?
If the party was near the end of the summer, it is entirely consistent that they might have talked about it for days once the fall session started. It was 3 decades ago - it is entirely reasonable that she would remember talking about it in school - separated from the event by days or weeks - beause of specific memory of place associated with the conversations.

(7,768 posts)She has to decide if she wants death threats, hacking, harassment and to be chased out of her home by White Supremacists like Dr. Ford was.

(8,694 posts)Its probably terrifying and overwhelming, realizing it will mean your life is turned upside down with death threats, doxxing, etc. Give her time, Im sure some reporter will get through to her. Ronan Farrow would be perfect, I wish he was on it. It doesnt contradict Blasey-Ford at all, you dont have to tell anyone in high school to have a story spread like wildfire about you. Maybe someone saw her crying and saw the two assholes laughing about it. I think this may be credible.

(9,766 posts)How did they talk about it in school for days after?
This doesn't help.
I missed that. I think something is fishy here.

(4,613 posts)August is still summer, and many schools start back in August. Especially on the east coast.

(9,766 posts)"After so many years, Ford said, she does not remember some key details of the incident. She said she believes it occurred in the summer of 1982, when she was 15, around the end of her sophomore year at the all-girls Holton-Arms School in Bethesda. Kavanaugh would have been 17 at the end of his junior year at Georgetown Prep.
At the time, Ford said, she knew Kavanaugh and Judge as friendly acquaintances in the private-school social circles of suburban Maryland. Her Holton-Arms friends mostly hung out with boys from the Landon School, she said, but for a period of several months socialized regularly with students from Georgetown Prep.
Ford said she does not remember how the gathering came together the night of the incident. She said she often spent time in the summer at the Columbia Country Club pool in Chevy Chase, where in those pre-cellphone days, teenagers learned about gatherings via word of mouth. She also doesnt recall who owned the house or how she got there."
