one in five households had to reduce or forego food, medicine & other necessities to pay energy bill

Trumps America is great? yea, right.

Nearly a third of households in the United States have struggled to pay their energy bills, the Energy Information Administration said in a report released Wednesday. The differences were minor in terms of geography, but Hispanics and racial minorities were hit hardest.

About one in five households had to reduce or forego food, medicine and other necessities to pay an energy bill, according to the report. "Of the 25 million households that reported forgoing food and medicine to pay energy bills, 7 million faced that decision nearly every month," the report stated.

More than 10 percent of households kept their homes at unhealthy or unsafe temperatures.

The data come from the federal agency's most recent energy consumption survey in 2015. That year, expenditures for energy were at their lowest in more than decade, according to the agency.

The average person can safely tolerate temperatures as low as 50 year round and possibly as low as 40. I spent one winter with the thermostat set at 55.

The greater point in my mind is, why should anyone have to spend the winter in America cold? It is unnecessary. This is Trumps America, deny people need assistance and claim there is a lot of people scamming the system.

I would think infants and Seniors would have a hard time with temps that cold. You also have to consider heat "unhealthy or unsafe".

Being frugal in nature, I was able to transition from working full time to living on a little over a grand a month from SSDI.

qualify for assistance, he keeps lying about how much fraud is involved with this assistance program.

Same Republican policy that predates Trump, remove all government protections that help those in need.
