This is the fifth race-related issue concerning the Florida candidate, his gubernatorial campaign or one of its supporters.
MIAMI A Republican activist who donated more than $20,000 to Ron DeSantis and lined up a speech for him at President Trumps Mar-a-Lago club called President Obama a F---- MUSLIM N---- on Twitter recently, in addition to other inflammatory remarks.
Steven M. Alembik told POLITICO Wednesday he wrote the Obama tweet in anger, that hes absolutely not a racist and that he understood that DeSantiss campaign for governor would need to distance himself from the comments which the campaign promptly did.
Weve said it before, well say it again: we adamantly denounce this sort of disgusting rhetoric, DeSantis campaign spokesman Stephen Lawson said in a written statement.

Although he has deleted the remark, Alembik dug himself into an even deeper hole when Politico reporter Marc Caputo interviewed him about it. The quote that most outlets have run with is this one, where he attempts to justify himself with a terrible double-standard:
"So somebody like Chris Rock can get up onstage and use the word and theres no problem? But some white guy says it and hes a racist? Really?...I grew up in New York in the 50s. We were the k----. They were the n------. They were the goyim. And those were the s----.
Firstly, it's a bad idea to try and present yourself as a tolerant person and then use derisive terms for Jews and Hispanics. But Alembik also speaks to the white cluelessness that questions the taboo nature of the N-word, while ignoring the huge amount of cultural baggage it carries.

(2,768 posts)1. I hate that argument for using the n word. The moment these momo ass dudes can turn themselves black
and live that way for a a quarter century then they can go ahead and say something. Until that day this guy and every other person out there like him needs to shut up with that nonsense.
