New Michael Moore movie, both parties the same or to blame, etc...

That is what I hear, havent seen it, but I wont be surprised if he says this shit and RIGHT in time to get people NOT to vote.

No bigger fan of his on this board than I WAS...not anymore.

FUCK him if this review is true.

No link, heard it on radio show.

And all the WONDERFUL work he has done now will be discounted by those who will put in doubt everything he has done.

I originally said "both the same" in OP Title for shorthand, the implication is the usual bullshit that while of course the GOP is bad and worse the DNC is not much better and guilty of this and that.

But if, after 20 or 30 years in politics, you haven't garnered enough support for your ideas, policies and positions - i.e., "established" a new, better way of doing things - you've failed.

The point of standing on the outside yelling and banging on the door is to get into the room so that you can change things from within, not to just stand around yelling and banging your fists.

Fri Sep 21, 2018, 07:50 PM
Sep 2018

After winning Michigan for Trump, Macomb County viewed as symbol of U.S. political realignment

It's a question being asked in light of Michigan's stunning shift from blue to red in the presidential election, due in large part to a fairly seismic shift in the cluster of suburbs northeast of Detroit.

The influence of working-class white voters is largely being credited with putting Republican Donald Trump on his way to the White House, and the vote count in Macomb County, the state's third-largest county, made the difference for Michigan on Tuesday.

"My suspicion is that what happened in Macomb is the same as what happened especially across the upper Midwest," said Timothy Bledsoe, a political science professor at Wayne State University. "There was kind of a revolt of working class whites ... who'd been part of the Democratic coalition for years."

Trump took about 54 percent of the vote in Macomb County, against Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton's 42 percent. Libertarian Gary Johnson got about 3 percent of the vote. The difference of 48,348 votes was enough to swing Michigan for Trump.

'"If you're using a filter ... the Flint water at this point is drinkable,' Obama said, cautioning, however, that pregnant women and children younger than six should continue suing bottled water." By the end of the year the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act was passed that provided 170 million for infrastructure and Obama signed it.

So Obama lied and the water wasn't safe with a filter?

Anyone who says "both parties are the same" (or compares the Democrats to the Republicans with things like "Democrats are the party of the one-percent'') is NO FRIEND to Democrats and is NOT the kind of "ally" I want on my side. Divisive rhetoric like that only tarnishes the brand of the Democratic Party and does absolutely NOTHING to promote unity or trust.

All I'm saying is that anything that hurts the Democrats has the effect of HELPING and BENEFITING the GOP (and therefore, Russia, too.) I think we can all agree that we don't want to do things that benefit the GOP and Russia.

I can't stand him. His speech at the women's march was ghastly! He's completely lost the plot.

84. One opinion:

In the film, Moore assigns blame for Trump’s victory to widespread assumptions that Clinton would win, vested interests, and U.S. media that prioritized the big audiences Trump drew to television programming.

Another:

But as much as Moore loves making fun of Trump any chance he gets, in “11/9” he has truly the knives out for Obama and establishment Democrats. Trump gets off easy compared to Pelosi and Obama, and Moore argues Trump is the force of chaotic evil necessary to burn the whole rotten system down. He shreds Democrat organizations to pieces while focusing on the new guard of leftist candidates like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

85. Michael Moore's message:
Fri Sep 21, 2018, 08:27 PM
Sep 2018

Establishment Democrats are a "bigger roadblock to social progress than Trump."

Democrats are spineless, weak, constantly compromising and backing down.

We should, like, only listen to people who didn't vote or voted for Trump because they are definitely the most honest and trustworthy, good decent folks, the most knowledgeable about our economy, politics, society, history and ... well, just everything.

Why didn't Obama/Dems stop ( _______ )?

I PREDICTED TRUMP WOULD WIN!!!!!!

Vote for the new progressive Democrats in the next election, they know how to fight and are not bad like the gross old Dems.

Two years from now when the new Dems are the establishment, repeat the cycle.

86. Moore was effective during the Bush II years; but now, his act out of date.
Fri Sep 21, 2018, 08:27 PM
Sep 2018

Real events have gotten so strange, and now stack up so quickly that Moore's message is several steps behind, and thus lacks impact; at this point, the right-wing insanity is shamelessly out in front for all to see and experience, like it or not. A daily dose of Rachel Maddow offers far more pertinent information than two hours of Michael Moore once a year.

There's not much left for him to say that's novel anymore. The only worthwhile message is "get out and vote." And who needs to be told that, at this point?
