If anything, Donald Trump is an opportunist. If he gets the chance to fire Rod Rosenstein, he will probably jump at it?
If he were to fire Rosenstein, it is reported that the Solicitor-General, Noel Francisco, would be next in line to take his place. Would he do the bidding of Trump and get rid of Mueller and the Russia investigation? Nobody knows for sure but nobody is taking bets.
Most folks that are following this story expect Trump to wait until after the election to fire Jeff Sessions, his present Attorney-General. Between now and election day could be some very important days, in regards to the Russia investigation.
No doubt, if Jeff Sessions were to "un-recuse" himself, there would be conspiracy theories galore. But, if it kept Mueller in his job until after the election, it might be a good thing?
If the Democrats were to win the House,it would be a whole new ball game. But that is a big "IF"...
Meanwhile, the crisis continues.

(32,079 posts)Given the way Mushroom Dick has been treating him, all the name-calling, all the mockery of him and Southerners, it wouldn't surprise me if Sessions turns on him. I know the guy isn't very bright, but there is no honor among thieves.
