.....linked his name to Nancy, Bernie, Hillary, That new girl ..sorry forget her name. Cruz didnt say anything new or give any sense of hope.. he just pointed out the things Beto DID or DIDNT respond to and kept the name dropping up all night. Beto was on fire....stressed working together. Hes sharp! Cruz looked whiney, smirky and sounded condescending.

I am concerned about the severe voter suppression and other extreme tactics Texas does to the vote. Their republicans work hard to keep the state red, even though it isn't.

13. Please don't help the other side by discouraging our voters

Anytime we give anyone on our side an excuse not to vote, we're screwing our own candidates. We don't want to try to GOTV and have our voters say, "what difference does it make, the vote is fixed anyway."

Just an ask.

This shit doesn't sway the other side. They don't want reasoned discussion of issues, they want WWE style death matches.

GOTV!

Beto was out to give actual answers generally. He came across as a little bit of a wonk (still not sure exactly why that's a bad thing) but he was trying his best to give broad, simple, honest answers in the time allowed. I think he's still in the stage where a lot of voters are just defining what they think of him, and I think he helped himself there by being the honest, intelligent, charismatic, reasonable guy who actually wants to be a Texas Senator on stage opposite Ted Cruz, who was very much "true to form."

Most of Cruz' answers boiled down to "Blah, blah, Hillary, blah, blah, socialism, blah, blah, Bernie Sanders..." He reminded everybody why he's an asshole and I don't think he recruited many new voters, but he spent the whole debate pushing the buttons which terrify his base and get them to the polls. He needs Texas Republicans/conservatives to fear Beto more than they hate Cruz, and he worked that angle quite a bit.

I also tend to believe that the perception of the debate is more important than the debate itself, so I guess we'll have to see how that goes. I'm not awed by the methodology of the poll, but i voted for Beto on general principles.
