The difference between a woman having control over her own body, and the horror of a third party inducing a miscarriage or abortion through violence, is too unclear for our dumbed down and ethically infantile culture.

Personally, in the cases where the shooting of a pregnant woman causes a miscarriage, or this horrendous case where a drug was used intentionally to do so, I consider some type of murder charge would be appropriate.

As a society we recognize the distinction between self-defense and murder. A woman deciding to terminate her own pregnancy could be viewed through the lens of self defense. Some risks exist, and the changes that one goes through with pregnancy are dramatic, including re-wiring the brain.
