(58,785 posts)His behavior in joining and during the slimy, intensely vicious and unethical Starr investigation is all of a piece. How clever he was in designing pruriently suggestive questions to ask Clinton and poor Monica, requiring them to deny he put cigars in her vagina.
He probably regards Professor Blasey-Ford's factual recitation of what she remembers as a fortunate waste of an opportunity for far more salacious smear. Stupid woman.

This is a sickening display of our cultural propensity towards misogyny... as if the "grab her by the pussy" era couldn't get any worse...

(182,786 posts)I remember the author of that being on Colbert's old show for the whatever anniversary and thinking that Colbert had her on (he was in college about this time too) to illustrate how we got to things like the financial collapse of 2008.
She reiterated that the main themes of the book were:
Do what everyone else is doing
Don't be different
Ride your position and contacts and everyone makes money

(61,599 posts)The late 1970s and most of the 1980s were a nihilistic time. As the movie made famous, lots of affluent whites people embraced the idea that "greed is good." Ayn Rand was popular.
Kavanaugh fit right in.

(9,822 posts)version where girls were so obsessed with dominating men? A club with the name of Willy and the Coconuts (lame, I know.)
A group whose goal was to ensnare men for sex. A bunch of women who would drug men just so they could do anything they wanted with their bodies?
Neither do I, but it would be worth a science fiction investigation if anyone has the talent. If you know of anything like this, please enlighten me. I'm sure that I am a late comer to this subject.

(17,984 posts)Now maybe it's just me, but questions regarding his discussions about the Russia investigation seem a tad more salient; however, if it takes the TNC club to shut him down, so be it. Just as long as he is made to give direct answers.

(9,865 posts)...with is that it's very recent. It's about his Frat after he left. Not that it wasn't like this before--always-- but the timing of the article will allow him to say it has nothing to do with him. And he's shocked---shocked.

(1,020 posts)No wonder The Giant Turtle told Cheetolini, "Anybody but Kavanaugh". And it says a lot about Cheetolini insofar as he ignores The Giant Turtle's advice and does whatever he wants, underestimating the difficulties that will be encountered while overestimating his influence.
And I for one am glad he behaves like he's a 12 year old imbecile. Because now the world can see what the conservative's long-range goals are: to implement their religion-based agenda at any cost, despite the fact that only a small minority of Americans agree with their "platform".
