Amazing. The White House is starting to leak that Kavanaugh is not doing that well in prep. Seems like they are laying the groundwork to pull him.
Kavanaugh grew frustrated when it came to questions that dug into his private life, particularly his drinking habits and his sexual proclivities...He declined to answer some questions altogether, saying they were too personal.

Lots of little nuggets coming out, seems WH looking for an excuse to dump him....he wont make Wednesday...I'd say pull the threads a bit more and more skeletons will fall out en masse.

Seriously though, I am sick and tired of that bullshit as a justification and rationalization for despicable behavior. No excuse whatsoever.

(58,785 posts)made by our senators in the 3 days of hearings -- various allegations of perjury, Kavanaugh's involvement in the scandalous and illicit activities of the Ken Starr "investigation," in the Bush administration torture and secret prison planning, in the theft of documents from congressional Democrats? Remember the millions of documents, including Kavanaugh's record during the Bush WH, that the Republicans have hidden and have so far refused to produce?
How about all his deceptions at best about the core issue: his positions on judicial issues? He HAD to lie. He's so far right he's part of an attempted far-right bloodless takeover.
If people had reacted half as strongly to any of those as to this allegation of attempted rape as a teen, we might already have forced investigation on any one of those and killed his confirmation.
This is about the stolen documents that Kavanaugh lied about receiving, not just this time but in his hearing for his lifetime appellate position. Both times majority Republicans blocked investigation.
Leahy said that emails disclosed during Kavanaughs nomination hearing this week buttress his case that Kavanaugh knew, or should have known, that he had received documents that Republican staffers took from a computer jointly shared with Democrats.
There were numerous emails sent to him that made it very clear this was stolen information, including a draft letter from me, Leahy said in an interview. Kavanaugh, asked during this weeks hearing whether he ever suspected the material was taken from Democrats, responded, No.

(42,770 posts)someway Dr Ford could reiterate some of that into her testimony (since everyone will listen to her) Like, "I was hesitant to come after I read that so many documents on Kavenaugh we're hidden from the public." Or, "I was hesitant about his truthfulness since he lied to this committee and no one in charge seemed to care."

as for pulling him, WH might prefer a new nominee for after the election in December. can you see it? no hearing, no research, just a voice vote.

If Juniors past had really been investigated he would have never been selected.

Remember when he said "My first job is to make sure Obama is a one term president". Yeah, right. He blocked Garland, now he is backing this loser. Makes me wonder just how much McConnell got from Russia, since money is his sole motivation.

(13,179 posts)And the Republicans are simply trying to sell the idea before the hearing that there are some questions that "go too far." Watch for Dems to ask, for example, if it's possible Kavanaugh was so drunk he forgot what he did. Then Kavanaugh and Republicans will likely go into high dudgeon kabuki, "OMG, I can't believe you asked that unspeakable, over-the-top, unfair question you nasty Dem!"
