Rosenstein would not have been the only one talking about the 25th Amendment...

...after Comey was fired. It was a hot topic here on DU also. I seem to recall a few Republicans commenting on the matter? Did Paul Ryan make a comment about it?

It was a serious discussion with a lot of people at that time.

But, that was before Trump became "normal".

Now, it is an "attack" on Trump?

"#TSA." That's why I find this whole Rosenstein fake outrage hilarious on the surface. We just went through this shit when she went on her media book tour. They really, really do think we are all stupid and have amnesia.

Here's what Rosenstein would know: Although responsible persons like him should have discussions about it and its use in these extraordinary circumstances, the 25th is not meant to be applicable in a situation like the current one. Not yet, likely not ever.

All serious people at Rosenstein's level know that, even if others feel free to display their ignorance.

As one of the original authors of the 25th explained why it would not be applicable, Trump is still the person America sort of elected. He has not become incapacitated. He is simply showing himself to be what he is, a profoundly dysfunctional idiot, and he never deceived anyone about that. It was all on proud display. And still is.

He and others would fight application of the 25th with all they had, including in the courts, with psychiatric evaluations, etc. And note that it would have to be gone through all over again and renewed every 21 days (I think that's the right number) until and if he was permanently removed. Also note that people with personality disorders are not considered insane. He could well win his battle, -- even probably would? -- and be restored to full power.

Of course, all are watching for signs of disabling mental decompensation in this person.

Until then, though, the legal remedy is still in impeachment, trial and removal for a whole smorgasbord of possible reasons.
