The confirm Kavanaugh was registered over a year and half ago. I do not know what this really means at this point.
I do recall Trump submitting a memo listing all his proposed SC nominees not long after he was elected. But I think I recall that Kavanaugh's name was added later. More to come on this I am sure.

I think we're a lot closer to learning the truth. This whole Kennedy retires and Kavanaugh replaces him project was in the works for a long time. They knew his past and tried to hide it. That's why they won't release more than 90% of his written record. They ought to go to jail.

The confirmation hearing should last several weeks so all of these questions can be answered. Why did Kennedy suddenly retire? Was he forced out? How long have they known Kavanaugh was their guy? Is it just a coincidence that Kavanaugh and Gorsuch went to the same high school?

Dr. Ford would have to file a report for them to move forward. That option is open to her should they insist on bullying her.

At the very least - he would have been fully on board with having a sexual assaulting partisan misogyist white male installed on the Supreme Court. The perfect fit for him.

Justice Anthony Kennedy's replacement will come from Trump's list of 25 potential names
Michelle Mark
Jun. 27, 2018, 2:38 PM

Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy has announced his retirement, giving President Donald Trump the opportunity to nominate a replacement to the court.
Trump last year added five people to his shortlist of possible Supreme Court picks.

............ Last year's additions are made of up three federal appeals court judges and two state Supreme Court justices. Two of the additions are women:

Amy Coney Barrett, a judge on the US Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit
Britt Grant, a Georgia state Supreme Court justice
Brett Kavanaugh, a judge on the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit
Kevin Newsom, a judge on the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit
Patrick Wyrick, an Oklahoma state Supreme Court justice

Shortly after the list was updated last year, the White House counsel Don McGahn gave a hat tip to the new potential nominees during a speech to the Federalist Society, the conservative legal group that frequently weighs in on the Trump administration's federal judicial nominees. The audience applauded and cheered as McGahn read the five names.

"What do the judges on the list have in common? They have a demonstrated commitment to originalism and textualism," McGahn said. "Good judges follow the law, even when their decisions are unpopular. Judicial courage is as important as judicial independence."

McGahn was referring to two schools of thought among legal scholars, which favors interpreting laws according to the meaning of the Constitution as it was written or according to the plain text of the documents over the intent of their authors. Gorsuch, like Scalia, is frequently described as both an originalist and a textualist.

The reporters have said that all potential nominees tRump had placed on his list came from those provided by the Federalist Society. And I guess he probably had some personal picks he added, but never gave serious consideration to. It would be interesting to see who was behind that website though.

Probably, 99% of his policies come from right-wing think tanks, either directly or via his cabinet. The only policy I give him credit for is using Trump properties for personal gain during his tenure.

Just like it was leaked during W's time that they got daily talking points from Heritage Foundation.....

President Donald J. Trump Announces Five Additions to Supreme Court List

Law & Justice

Issued on: November 17, 2017

One year ago, President Donald J. Trump was elected to restore the rule of law and to Make the Judiciary Great Again. Following the successful confirmation of Justice Neil M. Gorsuch to the Supreme Court of the United States and the nomination of more than seventy Federal judges—including five individuals from his Supreme Court list—President Trump today announced that he is refreshing his Supreme Court list with five additional judges.
President Trump will choose a nominee for a future Supreme Court vacancy, should one arise, from this updated list of 25 individuals. The President remains deeply committed to identifying and selecting outstanding jurists in the mold of Justice Gorsuch. These additions, like those on the original list released more than a year ago, were selected with input from respected conservative leaders.

Amy Coney Barrett is a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Prior to her appointment in 2017, Judge Barrett was the Diane and M.O. Miller, II Research Chair in Law and Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School. Judge Barrett also served as a law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court of the United States and to Judge Laurence H. Silberman of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Judge Barrett is a magna cum laude graduate of Rhodes College and a summa cum laude graduate of Notre Dame Law School.

...............................................

Brett M. Kavanaugh is a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. Before his appointment in 2006, Judge Kavanaugh was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, served as Assistant to the President and Staff Secretary, and was a lawyer in the White House Counsel’s Office and in the Solicitor General’s Office. Judge Kavanaugh also served as a law clerk to Justice Anthony M. Kennedy of the Supreme Court of the United States, to Judge Alex Kozinski of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and to Judge Walter K. Stapleton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Judge Kavanaugh is a cum laude graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School............................

I didn't look at the whole list but www.confirm"xxx".com was registered out in the December'16 timeframe for the first 8-9 names on the list. Probably added Kavanaugh to the list when trump did.

I think what it means is this PR firm that was behind the doppelgänger story was just doing their job. The Federalist Society and Judicial Crisis Watch (I think that's their name) were willing to start spending money knowing that some number of names on that list were going to be nominated.

For perspective, www.confirmgarland.com was registered 3/16/16...the day he was nominated by BHO.

Funny how Gorsuch and Kavanaugh come from the same Catholic high school.

Kavanaugh's a yale skull and bones guy. The fundies were backing that woman from the catholic splinter group 'people of praise' for the nomination Kavanaugh got.

A question of what flavor of whackadoodle catholic would get put on the Supreme Court. Bircher Kochs backing a skull and bones jesuit trained catholic who tRump likes. Versus bircher Kochs backing an Opus Dei catholic the rightie 'christians' wanted installed.

At minimum, 2 judges were Opus Dei, Thomas and Scalia. 2 lied about Federalist Society ties at their confirmation hearings, Roberts and Alito. Thomas was Jesuit educated, like Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.

Rump just wants to cover his own enormous rump. The Kochs want to control all outcomes, and back rightie catholics in any eventuality, despite the anti Catholic nature of the Birch society.

It will take awhile, but read the whole thing, and the other links she provides. The whole story is in there, albeit in a fairly fragmented way. She is a great researcher.

Something weird went down with Anthony Kennedy way before he announced his retirement (it's in the pile of links). The story is, he was targeted with some sort of blackmail, long ago, to step down to prepare the way for a corrupt/corruptible SC nominee. Kavanaugh has some very hinky finances, that make him easy to control.

There are at least three constituencies who want control over the Judiciary:

- Dominionists who want to remake america into a theocracy. They get control over women, educational system, and revocation of the Johnson amendment which will turn religious groups into unaccountable black money operations, in exchange for the Jeezus vote.

- Federalists, Kochs, are pushing for a new constitutional convention that would throttle democracy. (Check out recent Nancy McLean interview on Bill Maher They court the TeaParty, traditional conservative, and gun voters.

- The international mob, principally Russian mobstate who want the ability to operate criminal enterprises across international boundaries. They corrupt the election infrastructure, and buy off everyone else.

Mitch McConnell is the open door for the Chinese government/ mob who have an equally complex agenda.

This thing runs deep. I hope we have enough good guys left to fight it.
