What is it supposed to mean? That the omnipotent creator of the universe was rendered powerless within the school building? That the loving creator either lets it or makes these tragedies happen out of spite ("You make decisions I don't like, I kill your kids as punishment" )?
It's either one of these two scenarios but whatever you choose, your God is either weak, indifferent, petty or in the worst case a psychopath.

5. I've thought that, too. When I used to believe, God was supposed to be omnipotent.

I always suspected that the so-called evangelicals and the holy rollers were hypocrites and this has unequivocally proven that belief. They only cheapen themselves and the *god* they wrap themselves in their faux goodness.

The church I attended as a kid in the 50s and 60s made me less fearful of things, hence also less prone to want to own a gun.

Explain that one from your pulpit, Mr. Cruz...... .......

What "public square" are they referring to? This isn't the 1950s anymore. You can preach on a street corner all you want, doesn't mean that anyone is going to listen to you.

past our borders to get that concept.

Everything the Republicans blame youth gun violence on also exists in full measure in all those other countries, yet they don’t have school shootings. Video games, violent movies, all of it.
