Prediction: Kavanaugh Withdraws before Thursday. Edited on Wednesday...

The appearance of new victims of his youthful inability to control his rapey proclivities is going to increase, I believe.

He will have no other recourse but to withdraw in an attempt to stem the tide.

Further, his excuse for withdrawing will be some weak sauce like, "To prevent unwarranted disruption of the nomination and confirmation process, I am hereby withdrawing from consideration for Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States."

We'll see if I'm right.

ETA on Wednesday, the 26th: New victims. Worse behavior. I predict he pulls out tonight. I'm sticking with my prediction from Monday.

she may not have known how far he went, but he is repugnant, POS scumbag, and she knows it. She has some "conservative" proclivities that allow people to partition that shit off - they can be scumbags and it is OK. Not sure about how she has lived her life specifically, but she knew what she was marrying, and clearly is all in on the conservative, elitist lifestyle.

He will stay until the bitter end. At this point, McConnell wants a vote, even if it fails. Then he can hang it on Red State Dems and also keep everyone in session throughout October, so they can't go home and campaign.

If the media was focusing on Kavanaugh the chances of withdrawing increases.

as long as his name is in the middle of it.

trump wants that 1-guaranteed vote security in the SCOTUS to protect him. And he makes progress on his pledge to weaken/overturn roe v wade.

So trump will be 100% behind him. Most of the gop senators will do whatever trump wants - they do not want him as an enemy. The rest will be bought off. There are two votes to play with . . .

Nope - don't see him leaving without more of a fight than what we have seen so far.

Obviously the Kavanaugh thing will build and build between now and Thursday. But also, Ralph Reed and other hard right Evangelicals have signaled that if they don't get Kavanaugh, they are staying home in the midterms.

But again, the more Kavanaugh plays the more the blue wave grows, all the signs are there. Plus the general circus of it all, further shows how inept the Republicans are, which is going to have a depressing effect on R turnout that is not rabid one issue, anti-choice, voters. And let's face it, that crowd doesn't have the pull it once had.

Trump obviously needs him in there to get him off the hook. I think promises and commitments have been made. From Kavanaugh's perspective, they may be irreversible. He's a desperate man. The question is if Kavanaugh is up to it? I don't think he is a sufficiently skilled criminal as he needs to be. This whole thing was supposed to be an easy score, but things are not going according to plan. He's now forced to operate from the Trump Playbook which is tenuous at best. Brazen it out, deny, deny, deny, and hope for a break.

As Horace Rumpole would say, "Give up your life of crime, you have no talent for it!"

If eventually confirmed in spite of everything, I don't think Kavanaugh will revoke Roe v Wade. I don't think he will be around long enough. He needs only to do Gamble v. the U.S. and make sure that Trump is not held to account. When he's done with that, he no longer serves a purpose. He can leave the Court. One way or another. One way, he'll be a wealthy man, another, not so much.

His supporters are correct, but for the wrong reasons, that nobody should have to go through this, .

If he withdraws, I would worry about his safety.
