2. the white house leaking that he resigned probably comes close to obstruction of justice.

there's little to no basis for actually firing him.

even the claim that he once talked about wearing a wire to record the president isn't a legitimate basis to fire him.

in fact, if it's true, it would be yet another count of obstruction/retaliation.
