He might secretly dislike Trump but like the Kavanaugh nomination. There are many Republicans that dontblike Trump but like the policies or judges/justices that he nominates. He knows that the victim is supposed to testify on Thursday. Why would he agree to meet with Trump that day? Distraction? He could have said his schedule was full that day. I dont trust any Republican completely(even the ones that are anti Trump).

(25,487 posts)In the end, Trump is his boss. He can't refuse to meet with him on Thursday.
Rosenstein has shown himself to be one of the good guys, throughout the whole Mueller thing. Hell... he APPOINTED Mueller.

(6,110 posts)with anything I have heard. That is suspicious. How can so many in Rump's inner circle been indicted, but Rump has committed no crimes ? It does not compute well.

(5,995 posts)That hasn't been tested in court, so technically Mueller could do that if the evidence leads him there.
If an indictment was brought against the Dotard, the action would immediately move to a legal battle over the process that would make it's way slowly to the SCOTUS. That likely would tie up to whole thing in stays and motions that would hinder the investigations.
Let's suppose that Mueller doesn't think there is settled law on indicting the Prez, but wants to be sure all avenues of investigation are probed before dropping the dime. It seems like a prudent way to operate and based on his recent track record, he's earned the benefit of the doubt.

That's what Mueller has been doing.
