Reminder: the Russians hacked an RNC server used by Lindsay Graham.

Supposedly, what they found there must have been of little use, since it wasn't released.

Or maybe, it has been of great use -- as blackmail material. You don't release blackmail material.

Federal investigators have said that a single email server used by that contractor had been penetrated. But it was going out of service and contained outdated material that the Russians probably found to be of little value. People with direct knowledge of the server’s contents said it had been used by Senators Lindsey Graham and John McCain.

An aide in Mr. Graham’s office said the hacking of the email server in question occurred in June. The Graham campaign was using the server to send news clips and campaign releases, the aide said.

In an unclassified report released on Friday, the intelligence community reported that the Russians had attacked “Republican-affiliated” organizations but that they had chosen not to make any of that data public. The report made no specific reference to the Republican National Committee.

Compare and contrast the Lindsay of today -- sucking up to TrumPutin, promoting a sexual predator for SCOTUS -- to the Lindsay of the primaries, "My party has gone batshit crazy."

from hacking “Republican-affiliated” computer systems. Now it seems quite likely that whatever they found better served them as the means of blackmailing Republicans to commit treason in pushing the Russian agenda to undermine our government with Russian moles.

The real laugh comes when the tiger they're riding dumps them then devours them. Too bad we won't be around to see it and enjoy the look of utter (and ultimate) surprise on their smug little visages.

against each political party. They used the hacked emails to embarrass Democrats because we tend to doubt our own strengths. They successfully blackmailed Republicans because their public image is too weak to withstand public scrutiny.

Brilliant tacticians, those Russians... and we still have 25 year old government computers.

They also probably all took Putin's $$$$ through PACs or the RNC or both. They are blackmailed up the wazoo. Of course they had no morals to begin with so it wasn't a moral decision for them to sell what's left of their souls to Putin.

Not really even a secret, so the kompromat they have is pretty worthless. On the other hand he did take a lot of money from the Russians (thru the NRA) and 2016 wasn't even a re-election year for him.

If he is being black mailed, and I think he is, it can’t just be that he is gay. I don’t think he would be a traitor to his country over being outed, even though he has chosen to remain in the closet. But would he comply with the blackmailer’s request to protect his lover? What if his lover were a well known, married political figure?
