The hubris of this SCOTUS nominee is very corrosive to the institution he wants to serve

The rule of law doesn’t matter. Decency of process doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is his hunger for the power of this appointment.
As with all of the people appointed by this WH occupant, his desire is to weaken the institution. So far, just his nomination process has done that.
If he takes a seat on the court...you can assure that the destruction of the rule of law will be underway. As planned.

There was an episode in which obviously superior aliens landed on Earth, and chose a number of humans to go visit their planet. Meanwhile, Earth linguists were struggling to learn the language of the aliens, using a book dropped by one of the aliens. By the scheduled departure date, they had managed to translate the title, which was "To Serve Man." Just as the chosen humans were going up the gangplank into the alien spaceship, one of the translators rushed onto the tarmac, yelling, "Wait! Don't go! We just translated the next sentence of the book called "To Serve Man." It's a cookbook!"
