11 WORMs hide behind a woman
So the 11 WORMs (White Old Republican Men, but you could think of it as White Old Republican Misogynists if you want) on the Senate Judiciary Committee have outsourced the Senators' job of questioning witnesses to a woman.
They're trying to make feel-good noises about the reasons for their dereliction of duty but everybody knows the reason that they're doing this is that they know 100% that 11 WORMs are totally incapable of treating a woman with respect and dignity, especially for several hours. They desperately want to avoid a hearing with soundbites like these, but they know that they're completely unable to avoid revealing their true selves:
WORM1: "Should a man be held responsible for the actions he took as a youth?"
WORM2: "If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to shut that thing down."
WORM3: Sounds like just good-natured "horseplay"
WORM4: Boys will be boys.
WORM5: "Rape is kinda like the weather. If it’s inevitable, relax and enjoy it."
WORM6: "Are you a scorned woman?"
WORM7: hysterical woman
WORM8: We don't mind if a man rapes you. We only mind if you don't carry his baby to term.
WORM9: "Rape victims should make the best of a bad situation."
WORM10: "You're mixed up and confused."
WORM11: It was some other guy. You can't recognize your friends.
WORMn: Just a little harmless fun.
WORMn: What boy hasn't done that?
WORMn: That was so long ago.
WORMn: You were drunk so you're responsible.
WORMn: He was drunk so he's not responsible.
They want to avoid making Democrats' commercials for them by displaying the depths of their own misogyny. They want to avoid showing America that they have actually regressed since the committee's metaphorical gang rape of Anita Hill.
