(4,407 posts)I honestly think it's going to be closer than that. Florida Tea Party nuts come do out to vote.

(14,565 posts)But be prepared for a narrowing. That is by far the most logical track. DeSantis led the betting odds and conventional wisdom immediately after the nomination. Then he fell off the rail with "monkeying it up" and resulting positive surge for Gillum.
However, everything tends to drift back to the beginning. I always keep that in mind. It makes no sense that there won't be a favorable stretch for DeSantis that returns this race closer to where it was pegged on primary night.
I think Gillum wins narrowly

(12,132 posts)the caller ID actually said "Survey Call" and she debated answering as she was about to go fix supper but she answered figuring if it was gonna take a while she could give me the phone. (knowing how much I love to give my opinion on stuff lol). She asked if I could take the phone from her but they said they were calling her specifically so either she could do it or they would have to go on to the next person on their list.
They asked the most questions about Gillum/Desantis (although there were a few Nelson/Scott Qs too)
I'm not sure if they were from either campaign or a neutral outfit looking for info but they asked a LOT of "Who do you think would do a better job of fixing x..." questions... Environment, jobs, schools, etc....After about the 4th or 5th "Gillum" answer my wife said to the surveyor "You can tell I've already decided on Gillum - don't you think that's who I'm going to answer for all these?" and I don't know what they said but they kept asking the questions. Wife was getting perturbed by then but she managed to get in a few good shots at "disgusting desantis" lol.
On a related note, I was stoked to see some Gillum bumper stickers on actual cars out in the wild these last couple weeks too.

(33,554 posts)great for Gillum, but that this loathsome, racist, piece of shit is only trailing by this much shows us many of our fellow citizens are deplorable.

Good news nonetheless.
