Brett Kavanaugh's 1982 calender from USA Today

This was a related story linked by USA Today embedded in the one about Dr Ford's witness affidavits.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/09/25/brett-kavanaugh-1982-calendar-evidence-against-assault-claims/1429142002/

From May to August that year, Kavanaugh, 17 at the time, included more than what many kids his age may have included on their calendar. He listed being grounded during at least three weekends that summer. He went to see several movies and to a Washington Bullets NBA game.

He listed his chores, including mowing the lawn, and a father-son dinner. He listed sleepovers at his friend's homes, including that of Mark Judge, Kavanaugh's friend and classmate at Georgetown Preparatory School. Ford alleges he witnessed the alleged assault.

But most importantly, Kavanaugh listed a wide array of parties he attended that summer. He detailed the dates and places of at least five parties over that summer and also noted a number of beach trips with friends and other hangouts.

What stood out to me in the images was the childish handwriting. It looks written by a 10 yr old, not a 17 yr old senior at an "elite prep school".

The calendar is just a work-a-day wall calendar, not a small daily planner book that a guy might keep in the inside pocket of a jacket or in a shirt pocket.

The funny thing is, the calendar basically contradicts everything Kavanaugh claims he didn't do, including sleepovers at Mark Judge's house!

I can see writing activities down on a wall calendar, but not keeping it for 35 years which, btw means keeping it through moves in and out of dorms, apartments and homes. After a few moves a normal person tosses that stuff.

Having just cleared out my old family home I was surprised what stuff of MINE that my Mom kept in memory type boxes high in the closet. She had several large boxes for each of us kids. I looked through mine and did not remember over 75% of it. I tossed much of it, but it was interesting to look through one last time.

Still, a calendar like that would most likely NOT record all spontaneous events. I believe this pool party was a party of opportunity, someone had access to a free house and pool and alcohol for s few hours and invited whoever was available to show up...it was not a calendar planned event. The calendar itself was probably something his Mom advised him to do. I know I tried for years to have my son use a calendar/planner so he could learn how to manage his time and be more productive.

Yeah, a party like that wasn't planned ahead. You laid out a very plausible scenario.

I'm wondering, have logic and common sense gone completely by the wayside for a segment of our country these days? People who believe the far-fetched stories we're hearing from the likes of trump and Kavanaugh seem to have lost their ability to detect BS.

IOKIYAR - that quote says it all. Kavanaugh's pal could confirm, under oath, that Kavanaugh was at that party, so Republicans simply refuse to call him as a witness, instead they send him off to Delaware to hide until Kavanaugh is appointed.

IOKIYAR - is true, happens, because the M$M is complicit with Republicans. If it weren't for a reich wing media this phrase couldn't happen. I get sick when I turn on cable news, yes msnbc too, and listen to news anchors spewing out the Republican narrative.

The narrative should be, "should the Maryland police investigate Kavanaugh because Republicans and the White House refuse to allow the FBI to investigate. Should Congress look into impeaching Kavanaugh if it is proven that he did the sexual assaults, that he committed perjury, that he was involved in the theft of documents. The narrative should be that Republicans are hiding evidence that would disqualify Kavanaugh. The narrative should be that when Democrats take back Congress that they "promise" they will investigate the Republican judiciary committee for wrongdoing in the Kavanaugh hearings.

It's OK if you are a Republican. Vote Vote Vote so that Democrats can make that phrase obsolete.

Jesus to Betsy people, Republicans are only allowing 5 minutes per person to question Kavanaugh for a freaking lifetime appointment to the SC. I expect this from Grassley, but c'mon Jeff Flake do something before you retire for the country.

1.) Who would keep calendars for 30+ years?
2.) Did his parents ask him to keep a calendar? Why?
3.) Would you write, "time to get girls drunk" on your calendar, even if you planned to do it?
4.) Why did Kavirginaugh release SOME of the pages and not all? Are there calendars from 1981, 83, etc?
5.) Why was he grounded? Drinking? Did his parents get a call from other parents? A girl's parents?
6.) NBA games, movies, parties, beach trips! Wow! Not exactly choir rehearsal and working at the mall for the summer.
7.) Why couldn't he drive (he was 17)? Was he restricted? Parents took the keys?
8.) There doctor visits and prescription refills listed? What for? What kind of doctor?
9.) Several girls names (Nikki, Suzanne, Anne, Becky, etc.)...there have to be witnesses to his behavior?

I don't see how this calendar is anything except a treasure box for the FBI (or reporters) if they really want to investigate.
Maybe he has stupid lawyers!?

Not every spontaneous event makes it to such a planning calendar, especially one where you got invited that day a few hours before it occurred and got completely shit faced.

You do make some really excellent points about what did make it on his calendar.

Strawberry and Deltorre(?; I can't make it out).

Therapist?

A 17 year old might have a need for a doctor, but multiple visits and prescriptions also could be interesting if someone tracked down who those doctors were and their specialties.
