What was once shocking is now accepted as the norm. For example, if one year ago the leaders at the United Nations had laughed at the trump, everyone would have been shocked. Now, it happens and we just shrug and move on. We accept it as the new normal.
A year ago, Republicans would not have dismissed so summarily the idea of an incompetent and dangerous President being held in check. Now, they act offended that someone may have suggested in conversation using the 25th Amendment or wearing a wire to expose the truth about Donald Trump. How dare they say such things about our President! When it was not that long ago that many of them were saying the same thing.
We may not notice the change that has happened? But, America is more like Donald Trump today than it was yesterday.

(25,111 posts)The world is still in shock as we are here in the USA. Shakes head and wonder how the hell did this happen. Once a thriving super power, now reduced to a "dangerous" laughing stock and butt of jokes.
I am still a proud citizen of The United States of America and will continue to resist.

They are tearing down the norms of Diplomacy, of Freedom, or Decency, of Empathy, and abusing the rule of law. THEY knew the despicable person Trump is and voted for him anyway. Just as long as they got their tax cuts, he is fine in their books.
People! The ONLY way to reign in the terror that is Donald Trump, is to VOTE out the Republicans that are in Congress!
