Personally, I think he loves being the thorn in tRump's side and he likes the publicity he gets.
Who am I to complain about his success thus far?

(29,199 posts)that said, he so far has had the goods every damn time. And delivers what he says he will deliver.

(20,576 posts)he is filling a void. I am sorry but the pedantic dissertations on TV are not even capturing the attention of the American people. They are not being heard. Avenatti is smart and grounded in values we need to hear during this rump fiasco.

(6,793 posts)Still, however, we have our butter knife believers. I always think back to the Americans who won our freedom from Britain. Trust me they fought hard, clever, and tough. We are in a battle with liars, thugs, and connivers. Lets meet them with any weapon we have. Words mean nothing to our enemies. And they are our enemies.

Making every story Avenatti's involved with start with "Avanatti" doesn't make him a better fighter any more than putting "TRUMP" in two-story letters on his buildings makes that wimpy loon a fighter.
Think about it. Yes, he's genuinely talented but not more than thousands of others. He's just made himself visible to you. If Avanatti advertised himself to people as a grapefruit would you be among the hoards who rushed to swallow it? Or would his advertising that identity be going a little too far?

(5,914 posts)But I can't deny that he is playing Trump's own game and destroying him with it. If only we had more Dem politicos who would do the same thing.

(9,239 posts)And if he says he has the goods - HE HAS THE GOODS. And he's a Democrat. Showboat? Yea. But he's doing GOOD with it. That matters.

(2,795 posts)Because he is taking on the biggest attention whore the world has ever seen in Trump. We need a smart, and legally smart, pit bull on our side for a change. He's not afraid to take them on and not prance around words diplomatically like so many dems do. How long did it take for them to finally say Trump lies and not more palatable words like, "mistruths, inaccurate statements etc"?

(31,011 posts)but for a while there he was on TV all the time and I got sick of hearing him. I'm glad he backed away from multiple TV appearances.
I'm glad he got involved with the family separation horror as well.
Either way, he's been effective and no matter my personal feelings about him, I hope we get more of him dropping bombs.
Plus, if his involvement means stopping Kavenaugh, I'm all for it.

It's sort of like Serena Williams. I'm not a fan of her personality and lack of genuineness... But there is little doubt that she is the greatest women's tennis player of all time.

(14 posts)He seems to attach himself to whatever is the hot issue and then makes a lot of noise. My concern is that he may have hardened the spines of the Republican assholes like John Kennedy who has now come out in favor of Kava-naww. OTOH, his courage, his feistiness and his ability to deliver might make him a great candidate in 2020.

of politicians and public news people, in general. I admire Hillary Clinton and her recent campaign (in fact, they won the Presidency!). I admired Bernie Sanders when he became a contender (remember the bird and the Simon & Garfunkel ad?). I do admire a lot of people... I don't see Avenatti as Presidential material, but I do admire his style - his standing up for his clients - and against Trump.
