Avenatti 2020?

I've read/heard in several places that Michael Avenatti is mulling a 2020 Presidential bid.

Am I the only one wincing at that idea, if he decides to throw his hat in the Democratic ring? I mean, he's great as an attack dog against trump; has a knack for totally magnifying the assholery of Donny-boy. But I always feel like I have to wash my hands after I read an article about him or watch an interview.

Hope he runs as a republican! He likely won't win, but Avenatti would have this trump completely punched out by the time the primaries are over.

What's everybody's thoughts on this?

prancing around in that position either, no matter if he is a particularly high stepper.

I really don't like that deposition he presented, way too sloppy and nonspecific, and I'm pretty sure that'd be intentional. When Judge and Kavanaugh were "present" when she was gang raped, is she saying they were present in the house? In the room? In a line? In her? It also was not signed under oath, also sure not an accident. What? He didn't want her to be held to it?

I really hope and trust this works for us, but...uhuh. Imo, he's obviously well suited to chasing high-visibility cases around the country and should keep to that. No to a position of public trust and responsibility.

Said I think we could do a lot worse than have him as our nominee. Got flamed pretty bad but my opinion has not changed. He is a fighter and gets under Traitor don's skin.

But, in my opinion, that in and of itself is not the best reason for choosing a nominee. My opinion; I don't see MA as a distinguished statesman on the international nor domestic stage; statesmanship and a commandeer of RESPECT is what I want out of my President before all else.

Based on that, I do not think Avenatti is our man at all.

No flame here....just disagreement.

So not only does he face enormous hurdles should he try, I am not sure the public would be interested in another amateur politician running for high office.

I am expressing my opinion about a possible 2020 Democratic candidate for President. I don't think MA is our guy. And I'm trying to see how fellow DU'ers view him.

the last 2 years have felt like 20. the next 2 look to be much much worse.
i'm not even entertaining a personal opinion on who would make a solid presidential candidate until at least November 2019.
at that point, a set of pareto-optimal characteristics should begin to emerge from which i can select my preferences.

basically, i think it's much too soon to be anointing anyone to run in 2020. meanwhile, we do have an election happening in 40 days or so, and i'd rather focus on that one.

I've hear/read in several places that Texas will secede.

Lacking any evidence supporting the premise, I ignore it as simply another internet absurdity.

and maybe the press secretary if the candidate wins. If he wants to be president himself, he should run for congress or some other elected office first to gain experience in government. Right now the thing he seems to be best at is media relations, a useful skill for a candidate but not by any means the only skill a president needs after they are elected. For now I'm happy to see him keep doing what he's good at.

Avenatti has fire and intelligence. I like his ability to drive Trump nuts. There may be enough candidates for the nomination that he wouldn't even be invited to any debates. It depends on what happens over the next year or two and how he performs in the primaries. Same as everyone else.

I thought only deplorables felt that way. I would hope that we set a slightly higher standard for our standard bearer.

But, the news media would love it, it would be the political news media's version of a cage fight.
