About impeachment...

Let's be clear here.

Impeachment is unlikely. I'm not saying impossible, but probably won't happen.

1)2/3rds of both houses are required.

2)The repukes are so scared of their base and him, that they will follow him even if it means driving off a cliff.

3)Even Mueller's expected report isn't likely to change things. Most won't believe it. Most repukes will parrot tRump's talking points. Most of them will be complicit in the crimes that continually get committed by this regime and will shred the constitution in the process.

IMO, the best we can hope for is to win at least one of the houses which will put a stop to some of tRump's garbage and the Dems will do the proper investigations.

I'm hoping for Dems to win both houses. That's where I'm hanging my hat right now.

impeachment only requires 50% of the House +1 - a simple majority

That triggers a "trial" in the Senate presided over by the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS.

The Senate then votes to remove and that requires 67 votes or 2/3rds +1.

The 25th requires the majority of the cabinet plus the VP. The President can challenge the removal and within 4 weeks time a vote is taken in the House and the Senate where 2/3rds +1 of both are required to sustain the removal.

I still think impeachment is likely not an option.

The only way I think it could happen is some hot smoking gun that cost tRump dearly. Enough to turn at least 80% of the voting population against him.

I'd be happy to be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time.
