GOP, You Have Proven Kavanaugh's Guilt ...
… and, in my humble opinion, you have done so beyond any reasonable doubt.
From the beginning, you thwarted full disclosure with respect to Judge Kavanaugh by refusing to produce tens of thousands of documents directly relevant to his work history, and the related work product thereof. In that refusal to disclose pertinent documents and communications – the types of things that would better inform the people deciding on the nominee’s fitness for the Supreme Court – you signalled that there was much to be hidden from senatorial scrutiny, as well as from public view.
Over the past few weeks, as the allegations of sexual molestation against Kavanaugh began to surface, you have consistently demeaned the accusers, and have even implied that the women who have come forward are part of some political conspiracy conjured-up by the Democrats in order to discredit Trump’s nominee. (Of course, you have no explanation as to why Trump’s first SCOTUS nominee, Gorsuch, was confirmed without the Democrats engaging in any such “conspiracy” to derail his confirmation.)
You have refused to hear from witnesses and/or accusers, other than Professor Ford. You have refused to direct the FBI to investigate. You have refused to delay Kavanaugh’s confirmation process in order to more fully look into his background in light of allegations that were not known at the time of his previous background checks.
You even went so far as to accuse another man of being Professor Ford’s attacker – which literally screamed “Kavanaugh is guilty, and we’re this desperate to convince you that he’s not.”
And then there is Judge Kavanaugh himself, who managed to look as guilty as conceivably possible when he told his FOX-News interviewer that his high school years were spent going to church, doing service work, and focusing on his studies – a self-portrait totally at odds with his own words in his yearbook, full of boasts about his drinking and womanizing.
There is no other reasonable conclusion to come to but that Brett Kavanaugh has a lot to hide, and that you are more than willing to cover for him – in the same way you have been willing to cover for your “pResident’s” incompetence, dishonesty, and probable collusion with our nation’s enemies.
You, and Kavanaugh himself, have totally convinced me that he is a sexual predator who is totally unfit for the position he is being considered to fill.
What truly gives me pause is what else in Kavanaugh’s past you fear could be revealed by any further investigation into his history. The fact is that the GOP always dismiss the allegations of women out-of-hand, and have often been successful in doing so. That leads me to believe there is something more being hidden here.
So the real question is whether there is something you know about Kavanaugh that you think is far more damaging than accusations of sexual assault levelled by mixed-up, easily-confused women, and would be exposed by further scrutiny.
Whether you Republicans manage to “plow through” Kavanaugh’s appointment or not, you have raised far more questions about his character than you – or he – have been willing to answer.
Rest assured that eventually, the truth always outs – and it will in this case, just as in every other.
In the meantime, you can brag to your heart’s content about how you managed to put a lying sexual pervert on the Supreme Court, along with putting a lying, Russia-colluding sexual pervert in the Oval Office.
