2. Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal rarely, if ever, see those cases.

Those are almost without exception state crimes or state law civil matters. I doubt he's ever had to consider one.

4. The only judicial position he has ever held was on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals.

He was nominated for that position by Bush II in 2003; he had previously worked at the WH. He has never been a lower court judge of any kind.

6. Happens all the time - well-connected lawyers get top jobs as judges.

A judge I used to work for told me that a judge is just a lawyer who knows the governor.

Six never served as a judge at any level prior to being nominated to the Circuit Court of Appeals.

And of the ten Judges nominated by republican presidents (including six senior judges), all but one are "first time" members of the judiciary.
