I don't get the meme of "last minute" attacks or smears, etc.

The time line is an arbitrary thing set up by the 'pubs. It can be put off
for a week or weeks. It's only Grassley that says it has to be now.

where Kav could prove he wasn't there.

It was a last minute story (Gulf of Tonkin) made to discredit the other stories.

KAv is now trying to make all of the allegations like the fake one.
