His responses to questions, for example Dianne Feinstein's, were ridiculous - belligerent, evasive, and argumentative. He doesn't seem to have the temperament to be a federal judge at all, much less a Supreme Court judge. And if I am understanding the way he is claiming he kept these diaries/calendars of his, it's not unreasonable to think that he wouldn't have written down the name of someone who he sexually assaulted, so Dr. Ford's name not being on there isn't the conclusive evidence he wants it to be.
