(51,545 posts)The witnesses (other than Dr. Ford), all say they don't remember that night. That is VERY different than saying it didn't happen. Why did everyone let Kavanaugh get away with this repeated LIE? Why didn't they say he was LYING?
Even Booker, after pointing out that Dr. Ford's friend said she believed her even though she could not remember that night, still needlessly and gratuitously added that her friend's statement "corroborates" what Kavanaugh is saying. WTF?
And why did Booker keep saying Dr. Ford spoke "her truth"? She spoke THE truth. Calling it her truth makes it sound like it is real only in her mind, like she might be imagining it.

(128,707 posts)so their lines of questioning also reflected their training. But also remember that a "hearing" is not a "courtroom" and the point of the (D)s' arguments was to insist on allowing further info to be obtained in order to help to validate what happened.
And the "her truth" is legal-speak for the lay observers to underscore that it would need to be resolved in a court. And as arrogant as Kavanaugh was about "Yale", Booker also graduated from Yale (as did both Clintons who he went after).

(51,545 posts)As a judge, when you hear a witness respond to a yes or no question with a rambling nonresponse, doesn't that tell you the witness is evasive?
Why do you think talking about your class rank is responsive to whether you assaulted a woman?
