I had to unlock the nurse's office for our transgender student to use the bathroom

It is easy to forget what is at stake in the current battle for the Supreme Court. My state passed a law banning transgender people using the bathroom of the gender they identify as. Every day she has to put up with the indignity of blatant discrimination and with the SCOTUS we are sure to have soon, this law will not be overturned by the federal judiciary. For some people, the court matters more than for others.

The General Assembly, in its repeal, did assert that it (rather than local lawmakers) control bathrooms

But its my understanding that there's currently no NC law on what bathrooms transgender students use
