For Graham, it wouldn't take much to have some photos in flagrante delicto, from what I've heard.

The opposite of love isn't hate. It's indifference. And Republicans have got a LOT of that for America's women. They truly just don't give a damn about them as human beings. At ALL (hell they don't even consider them human beings, mostly).

End of all environmental regulations, all worker's rights, all financial regulation, all consumer protection. Woe to immigrants and non-white people.
Domination of women is merely a perk--a symbol of all that to them.

Woman who identifies herself as a rape survivor confronts Lindsey Graham.
Washington (CNN)A woman who identified herself as a survivor of rape confronted Sen. Lindsey Graham on Thursday, while the South Carolina Republican was speaking to reporters outside a Senate hearing where Christine Blasey Ford was testifying over sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Graham, who is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was discussing Ford's testimony, when a woman who later identified herself on Twitter as Robyn Swirling spoke to Graham.
"Sen. Graham, I was raped 13 years ago," Swirling told Graham, adding later, "I don't remember the exact date, but do you believe me?"
Graham said he was sorry for what happened to Swirling and that she needed to go to the cops.
Given his former line of work, damn. He speaks to a rape survivor like this? And he spoke badly about Dr. Ford too.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/27/politics/lindsey-graham-rape-survivor-go-to-the-cops/index.html
Sorry, but that's more that indifference IMHO. How damn ROTTEN can you be? Acting like he does, and most other thuglicans, it's no wonder many women (And probably men/boys as well) are scared or too embarrassed to come forward to report rape/sexual assault.
There is one woman who he doesn't hate...his sister!

(58,785 posts)can draw a line to the kind of dizzyingly fast degree with which he has become an unquestioning Trump supporter."
Steve Schmidt said he's corrupted by ambition, corrupted by politics. This was in the context of America needing a statesman and that Graham could have been that man. Quite a condemnation.
For years I've been bouncing right along with Graham's perambulations, between appreciating some position Graham took (weighted for a southern Republican) and, more often, disapproving. In some weird way I'm almost vaguely mourning the death of the Lindsey Graham he used to be with, apparently, McCain's strong influence. Now we get Graham undiluted, no longer bipolar.
BigmanPigman
(51,584 posts)I called Sen. Collins at two different local offices and those mailboxes are full too. Those are the only ones I tried tonight but I imagine that the same would be true for other members of the committee as well as the borderline senators. Graham is third on the list of people I hate, right behind the fucking moron and McConnell.
I hope the ghost of McCain haunts him until he loses what's left of his evil mind. 😱👻
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)He's in part a product and victim of this era, though. I strongly believe that politically, which has increasingly affected all areas of their lives of course, many conservatives have been trained to be the worst versions of themselves. What they will support is determined by who leads them.
We're seeing more and more break away now, even if only weakly and tentatively. Not Graham, though. He's among the many millions whose intellect and moral core weren't strong enough to stand against the corrupting influences, and his prop is gone.
Guess I'd better go call some senators too, the committee votes at 9:30. One of my (blood red) senator's lines was answered by a person the other day. That hadn't happened in months.

(8,146 posts)yes i need work, but im just saying the fascasti CONTROL the stage, they manage the reportage, they pass gas and giggle then mock up the publics' reactions (regan's 37% poll in 1980 called a'landslide' for example)...i have been outraged by the way the 'poohs have used 'PC' to denigrate criticism of the bastards' hideous schemes to injure the world, and that's it. Graham is a punk, and the fact he's gay shouldn't protect him, as his gangoassholes routinely attack LGBTQ ppl all the time for that very thing (see 'god hates fags')!
btw thanks for defending the good, but there's lotsa people here who are rough and harsh when getting into the fascist's faces, and they too shouldn't be forced into silence due to their 'bigotry'
we aint bigots, i don't think

It may very well be that Senator Graham's comments in the wake of Dr. Ford's testimony will be played in future documentaries of these times - sort of like we hear from segregationists when talking about the history of the Civil Rights era.

(701 posts)It would be over. A little more genuinely perhaps. But Republicans can never see down the road. They only know bombast, blustery, lying and cheating. And I think they'll vote tomorrow because that conservative vote on Court is all they care about. Disgusting.
