I'm perfectly fine with every presidential race from here on out being a referendum on the Supreme Court, especially given the fact that the last two Republican presidents have been elected to their first term by a combined total of what, ~80,000 votes?

but voted for him anyways because the Supreme Court was important to them and they didn't want Clinton nominating justices. If only more on the Left had been as smart.

I think there are some states passing laws they won't abide by it. It is one way of bypassing it.

Since electing a president by the electoral college has favored Republicans twice in the last 5 elections they have no motivation to be rid of it and most states are controlled by the GOP.

Even if they could? I have my doubts.

Even though things look bleak, in that Kavanaugh WILL be voted onto the court thanks to partisan thuglicans, I just can't shake the feeling I have that something's going to come out about him being on the High Court. He's such a nasty, partisan, right-winged political-hack who HATED and went after the Clinton's, and who IS more increasingly a sexual deviant (possibly a drunk), and that some kind of KARMA has to catch up with his rotten ass.

Just like a state Supreme Court. Non-partisan national ballot. 3 seats up for grabs every six years.

We did it with senators and we have done just fine with it.

If we had such a change, confirmation fiascos would be a thing of the past.
