I found both Flake and Kennedy's closing comments to Kavanaugh very peculiar.

They were not in the GOP fawning mold and seemed to me non commital and vague. Not that I can predict anything but is there some unspoken or vague hope?

As to Kennedy asking Kavanaugh if he believes in God I have severe doubts that he does.

I still don't trust him, but he wasn't apologizing and seemed genuinely thoughtful.

That was an underhanded-pitch "get out of jail free" card, to mix metaphors.

"Oh, you DO believe in Jeebus? Golly, that's swell. You're such a fine, honorable man!"

I can see it maybe being him offering Kavenaugh a chance to come clean.
I was surprised to see that he is one of the undecideds.

If he announces his vote ahead of time, they will browbeat him to make him change.

spoke for a minute and wasn't fawning over Kavanaugh the way the rest of the corrupt R turds were. He could still be a hero of this thing.

Kennedy is just a jerk. "Do you believe in God?" What an asshat way to end.
