Can we please stop saying...

someone has something on people in congress as the reason why they do what they do? Don't make excuses for there unconscionable behavior! No, the repubs are not being blackmailed or otherwise manipulated. This is who they are - which is far worse than being blackmailed.

1. They are all or most of them guilty of working with KGB or Putin or GRU or NRA who

directly worked with GRU or Assange etc.

i.e. they are not being blackmailed, per se, but they are guilty of treason.

I dont know what else to call it.

5. Or . . .

Using "double down" when you really mean "push all in" or "substantially raise the stakes."

8. Isn't the OP referring to "begging the question"?

If the original premise is that all GOP members are being blackmailed, but that has not been proven.

After that post to which you are alluding, I decided not to use "begging the question" anymore.

6. Oh FFS. What do you think the Patriot Act was for?

"terrorism?" LOL

I suspect the current amount of dirt our hallowed leaders have on each other (not to mention corporations and contractors, banking, insurance/pharma execs etc ) is fucking staggering
