So, on the delay for an investigation:

Apparently Lisa Murkowski has joined Flake in calling for one. The GOP needs them for the final vote. If they want to play hardball, they could refuse to vote yes in that vote if we don’t get an fbi investigation. Will they? I don’t know. Will it alter the final outcome? Serious long shot, but... possibly? This is mostly for show, but there is a small glimmer here.

Six people were there that night. They all have to be willing to lie and maybe go to jail for him and they all have to tell the same story. That's a tall order.

They can’t lie if they don’t want to risk jail, but they can use the Reagan Defense: I just don’t remember......

I think they will get him for lying repeatedly to Congress. He lied about the yearbook quotes, his drinking habits etc. That's all fair game.

He has not testified under oath, the denial/statement was from his lawyer, shielding possible perjury charges so far. The FBI pulls him in, he could easily talk.
