His Wife.
If she came out and filed for divorce and gave the reason as her belief that these women are telling the truth, his image would be damaged significantly.
Those of you who feel sorry for her, should consider that. If she came out saying she BELIEVED Dr. Ford over her husband, he would be done, FBI Investigation or not.
Just my opinion.

(14,955 posts)No way she does that.
It would sink his nomination, but so would being struck by a meteor the size of a VW Beetle.

(58,785 posts)Brett would be one of the hard-core conservatives who followed Trump to DC and found himself rejected by local women. Then he and she would meet and be thrilled to discover they'd finally found someone who despised the stupid, conniving Democrats and agreed the detention centers were really like summer camps and children sent to them the fortunate ones.
The ideological sorting out that takes place most of the time.

(14,561 posts)And think that is someone who is uncomfortable being there or whatever.
She very clearly displays the same disdain that he displayed, that she felt he shouldn't have to explain what he did.
I knew absolutely nothing about her going into it, and watching her know she's an entitled, full on conservative, who's in complete agreement with his extremist, partisan views.

(872 posts)I'll judge her. She sat behind that POS yesterday while he ranted and raved. She supports him. She's a fucking adult with free will.
And she chose to marry him. She knew who he was then, and knows who he is now.

(43,889 posts)You need to take a timeout because what I'm seeing is lust for blood.
You see a wrong. You want somebody to pay for it.
I get that.
But you don't care who it is that pays the blood debt.
That's a problem.

(43,889 posts)Why would I hold Cosby's wife responsible for Cosby's actions?
Is she on trial?
Then let's hear the evidence and judge her for whatever crimes she may have committed.
But to judge the spouse for the crimes of her husband, that's just sick.

(43,889 posts)I can dismiss her testimony as invalid.
She is her spouse.
Of course she will support him.
That's why spouses cannot testify against their other spouse.
But also why they cannot credibly defend them.
The person on trial is Bill Cosby.
And his spouses testimony is irrelevant.

(13,564 posts)make it happen is money. I think a big part of this whole thing involves money. There are people that have the goods on this guy and own his ass! That's why they want him on the court so bad. Why Putin wanted his boy as President too.
Kavanaugh's wife, if she was unhappy with the money situation, with the gambling debt and all that, could set herself up real nicely with a tell-all book. They never do though.

(81,432 posts)Ashley Estes & Brett Kavanaugh: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know
Ashley was Personal Secretary to President George W. Bush and worked in the White House at the same time as Brett Kavanaugh, before they were married. She was there from 2001 to 2005. She was also Bushs personal assistant while he was Governor of Texas from 1996 to 1999 and for the Bush-Cheney Presidential campaign from 1996 to 2000.
In fact, Ashley and Brett met while they both worked for the White House. Brett was associate counsel and then staff secretary when he met Ashley, while she was Bushs secretary. Bush also appointed Kavanaugh to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in 2006.
Ashley and Brett Kavanaugh were married in 2004, when Brett was a United States Circuit Judge. President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush attended their wedding. Their wedding was featured in a Weddings of the Rich and Famous column published in the Washingtonian, but only because the Bushes attended.
