(5,812 posts)I was in my 30s back then when Watergate was screaming in newspaper headlines and I was embarking on my legal career -- she was my hero -- a female attorney. We were kind of rare back then and were often called "sweetheart", "honey" and "dear" by all of the males in the biz. That includes the male judges, too. I was told that since I was female, I would not need a legal secretary -- because, of course, I could type! Isn't that cute -- someone before the bench in a skirt! And a short one at that! The male attorneys did not think me so cute when they walked back through the bar and they realized their backs felt wet and it was from 10,000 stiletto cuts I had delivered while they patronized me!
Love you, Jill!!!!!!! You gave me courage back then to look female and love it, but NOT to be just a female attorney lost in a man's world!

I have close-captioning activated on my TV (so I can mute the TV when necessary but still read the conversations), so the captioning was over top of the pin (I could see the Queen but not the other card). I did finally get a view of the whole thing (and yelled "21!" ) when the chyron dropped off between speakers.
