CNN's Toobin Takes Back Criticism of Jeff Flake: 'Time for Me to Eat Some Crow'

CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin has expressed some outrage this week, as recently as this morning, about Senator Jeff Flake. He’s called Flake a coward and said he’s all talk, no action when it comes to standing up for what’s right––this week in particular on the Supreme Court battle.

But after Flake’s request for an FBI investigation into Brett Kavanaugh was agreed to by the Senate Judiciary Committee and President Donald Trump approved it, Toobin took back the criticism.

Flake, after being confronted directly today, called for a one-week delay on the Kavanaugh vote and the FBI investigation. And on CNN tonight, Toobin said, “I think it’s time for me to eat some crow about things I’ve been saying about Jeff Flake.”

“I’ve been saying that he’s all talk and no action, and I was wrong,” he conceded. “This was an epic moment in the history of the Senate. Brett Kavanaugh would be confirmed, in all likelihood tomorrow, if Jeff Flake had not done what he did.”

“It was a courageous act, it was an important act, and it shows that my criticism of him was wrong,” Toobin said.

Admitting he was wrong and apologizing. What a novel concept. If only Brett had tried that.... Freethinker65 Sep 2018 #1
