The FBI Is Already Talking To Brett Kavanaugh's Other Accusers

The FBI Is Already Talking To Brett Kavanaugh’s Other Accusers

Republicans hoped that the scope of the FBI investigation into Brett Kavanaugh would be “limited,” but new reporting late Friday indicates that the bureau is already reaching out to the judge’s other accusers.

According to the LA Times, “The FBI moved immediately given the short time frame. By Friday night, agents had sought to schedule an interview with one of two other women who, after Blasey Ford went public, made accusations of their own about alleged assaults dating to Kavanaugh’s days in high school and at Yale University, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation who asked to remain unidentified given the sensitivity of the matter.”

The report added, “FBI investigators contacted the attorneys for the woman and asked to interview her ‘as early as tonight,’ according to one of the sources. Her attorneys countered with a later time, but the interview could occur this weekend, the sources said.”

Brian Williams shared the news late Friday on MSNBC:

The investigation is moving at lightning speed

What all of this suggests is that, as PoliticusUSA‘s Jason Easley noted earlier on Friday, “Donald Trump and the Senate Republicans won’t be able to rig the reopening of Brett Kavanaugh’s background check.”

Instead, the FBI appears to be moving as quickly as it can to cover as many bases as possible. It’s no wonder the president, his GOP colleagues in Congress and Kavanaugh himself didn’t want this to happen.

It hasn’t even been 12 hours since Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake changed the course of this confirmation process, and the FBI is already digging in.

allegations is plural. That means allegations from several women. And I hope, allegations of his drunk drinking. He is toast. Once the FBI reports back, either Trump will tear up his ticket, or he will drop out. Plus, I fully expect that when the Dems take over the House (and maybe Senate) judiciary committee, there will be more investigation and an impeachment if he hasn't already resigned the DC court. Plus every DC District court case that he ruled on might be reopened for review. This debacle will be far reaching.

Just another incompetent butt show from the Trump gang that couldn't shoot straight.

This is why he has been rewarded all along the way, and why Bush made phone calls in his behalf to the republican senators.

Their credibility has been attack by Trump and along with the entirety of the Republican Party. The Republicans have become the scum bags of civilization and they have to be totally destroyed. I for one don't give a damn what a Republican controlled Supreme court has to say about any case before it.

At best the Republican have been limited to obstruction. If they gain complete control it will nothing more than a political hammer that has as much respect for objective judgment as lynch mob.

I especially reserve this judgment for the Republicans that disgrace the court. Ever ruling they hand down is totally dictated to by the wishes of the corrupt Republicans and their privileged billionaires and their radical bible beating rabble. They long ago sold out and are the sole property of the most radical elements of our society. It imperative that they obey this pack of radicals or face the extinction of the Republican Party. They made their bed with the worst elements of society and now they have to sleep in it or perish.

It would be hilarious that their latest stooge had the audacity to charge that those opposing his nomination are politically motivated. His selection was from a list of candidates that have been chosen from Federalists Nitwits of America of their approved candidates who are committted to transforming our nation into a virtual theocracy. A sham democracy run by a authoritarian patsy of the billionaires. The totalitarian governments of Russia, China know that their determination to take down our democratic republic is now within grasp.

If the Democrats fail to prevail and are unable to stop this destruction of the nation that was founded on enlightenment principals, the future looks dim at best for the typical Joe and Jane Average citizen who will be reduced to helpless pawns of the state.

I think it’s hysterical that Brett didn’t listen to Dr Ford’s testimony as he waited in the wings. If he had, he would have known his tactic needed to be revised. She gave a great explanation for the timeline refuted this was a democratic ploy. I guess Sen Graham wasn’t listening either.

Really odd to find myself saying it, I'm usually focused on Hoover and Cointelpro, pro-Peltier, etc.

This Supreme Court nominee background check stuff is what the Feds are for.

I do like when they go after wiseguys, white collar crime, far-right terrorists, and do counterintel vs enemy adversaries' agents, but their batting average on those issues has always been too low, for me.

....but I think we should have played up the perjury angle just as much if not more than the sexual assault angle. Both are important, but I think the perjury/lying angle would have had a bit more sticking power. Although it seems that most of the public opinion was against Kavanaugh so not sure it would have done anything since Republicans don't listen to the people.
