My younger brother, anti-Trump Republican, posted his thoughts on Kavanaugh hearings. Said he believed Ford. Said he did not believe Kavanaugh and was put off by the chip on his shoulder. Brothers wife is liberal. She and other liberals weighed in. His conservative friends weighed in. (He lives in NE Georgia so he had plenty of them). Not the usual outrage, but several angry that Kavanaugh would be treated so poorly, etc). One Republican cousin of ours picked up the this is bullshit line. I was pleasantly surprised, and blown away, when one of my older Republican cousins, who NEVER mentions politics, said he agreed with my brother and said Flake did the right thing to put this on pause.
The theme of the post was temperament. I was not going to highjack the post (my brother still has to make a living; I love him; the racism of the RWrs is pushing him back to us) so I only mentioned that I personally did not have the temperament to be a traffic court judge and therefore would never put my hat in the ring to be a judge. Another poster, who WAS a former state court judge, and a Republican, weighed in about keeping sane when while litigants are mud wrestling in court. The implications were that he did not find Kavanaugh to have good judicial temperament. Again, rural Georgia, cant say everything you want to say.
We made points on Facebook with the Republicans on the theme of judicial temperament. If we are calling our Senators, lack of judicial temperament is something that will get under their skin. Should be our talking point going forward.
As Bill Maher said last night, if this were a custody hearing, Ford gets the kids.

Of course. the lying and rapeyness all go to temperament. There has never been a worse display of judicial temperament in the Senate Judiciary committee.
