Jim Carrey draws 'hateful' Graham: 'Ever wonder why women don't report sexual abuse?'

Actor Jim Carrey drew a portrait of the “hateful and heinous” face of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) during Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, saying his anger toward Christine Blasey Ford was a disgrace.

“Ever wonder why women don’t report sexual abuse?” Carrey tweeted on Friday. “Look no further than the hideous and hateful face of Lindsey Graham who offered nothing but anger and absolute disdain to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford following her courageous, and very credible, testimony."

"Talk about 'a disgrace,' " he added.

Carrey’s portrait of the South Carolina Republican came one day after Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in the 1980s.

This level of insanity is beyond my comprehension. Anytime I feel there's hope for our nation, the doubts return into this old man after reading stories like this one (ran across this while looking for news on the F-35 crash).

SC conservatives say Lindsey Graham rebuilt reputation in Kavanaugh hearing

(snips)

“But sure enough, he did give them hell,” Stutts said Friday, reflecting on the senator’s highly-pitched and well-publicized tirade over Kavanaugh’s treatment the day before.

“Conservatives have had our disagreements with Sen. Graham in the past,” he continued. “But my hope is he’s coming to see the light. I think this has gone a long way in rehabilitating his reputation.”
------------
But on Friday, conservative activists across South Carolina found themselves expressing a rare new feeling about their often polarizing senator: total support. It’s a feeling that could ease what was looking like another tough re-election fight for Graham in 2020. “Lindsey was the hero of the Republican Party yesterday and of conservatives everywhere,” said Rick Tate, GOP chairman in ruby red Pickens County.

“Conservatives will not forget Lindsey standing up for Kavanaugh yesterday,” Tate said. “It will be in the minds of conservatives as long as Lindsey is in public office. It will be one of the hallmarks of his career.”

The point of posting this is to remind everyone that we have a long hard slog to change hearts and minds in the South. These people are mentally sick in my view and it may take a generation or more to reverse the brainwashing. I witnessed the change in the 60s/70s after Agnew stormed through and things have not been the same since.

This is going to be a one office at a time fight for many years and the right-wing media headwinds are not helping. I'm especially eternally grateful for all the new young Democrats across the country that are joining our battle......

He needs to be outed in the worst way. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay, but there is plenty wrong with being a far right-wing hypocrite.

Just to list a few that dog me the most.....

* They've turned the meek and mild Christian churches of 1950s America upside-down, with many now being just another bully pulpit for right-wing dogma. And, apparently in their church it's perfectly OK to lie on behalf of their causes.

* Many of them bitch about a so-called deep state conspiracy that is a figment of their imagination, yet they have their very own private, secretive billionaire-funded deep state consisting of think tanks, right-wing Christian organizations and many, many media outlets - all supporting only the repug party.

* Their touting of "free" markets, which is just dog whistle for freedom for billionaires to further own the working class.

That list could go on for pages, but it helps me to vent..... ....over a few of the worst. And you're right, like the money changers in the temple, they deserve no mercy or compassion whatsoever.

..........
