the jury applauds his whining and the jury foreman stands up and points an angry finger at the prosecution and curses them as demon-spawn before leading the other 11 members of the jury in a halleluia-type chant of "He's innocent if not in God's eyes, at least in his own eyes, and you're all going to hell."

My brother worked in Congress as a DC and senior advisor to four different reps over the last eight years. When I asked him to sum up the experience, he said simply that Congress "is a f'ing boys' club run like a locker room." His biggest takeaway was, simply, "we need many, many more women in government."

Kavanaugh is not unexpected; indeed, he's exactly what the system of white privilege still breeds, especially as it clings to power in the face of demographics it can't escape, all in a death watch for 2045 (https://www.brookings.edu/blog/the-avenue/2018/03/14/the-us-will-become-minority-white-in-2045-census-projects/).

I can't remember the specific number, but I heard Hillary state that we now have a record number of candidates running for higher government offices. I'm sure someone could find out what that number is, but I know this year we have an opportunity to "hire" more women than ever before.

you realize that although women make up 51-52% of the US population, just 23% of Congresspersons are female. Puts the idea of "representative" government on shaky ground.

And even the numbers don't add up!

I know it was true at one time, but don't know if it's still true. However, it always makes me think about how we all know what is meant by the term "ole' boys network" but there's no concept of "ole' girls network". What bothers me the most about that is that in my experience, men can hate another guy's guts but they'll still support him over a woman whereas women will not do the same for other women. It's past time that women support women in the same manner. Call it some sort of affirmative action if you wish where if there are two candidates and both seem qualified, we vote for the woman.

Now, I don't mean to vote for the likes of a Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachmann, etc.
